Types of Multi Courts & Tennis Courts Macadam and Porous Concrete Facilities While porous concrete courts are hard wearing and need very little maintenance. However, it is critical that the required maintenance actions are carried out if the court is to remain free draining. Vegetation and debris should be removed from the court otherwise the free drainage of the structure will be impaired. Polymeric Surfaced Facilities Synthetic Grass surfaced Facilities ( We do not undertake artificial grass maintenance. Nevertheless, we are happy to provide advice and details of specialist contractors if required )tors) General Maintenance Required A wide soft broom can be used to sweep the surface but this has a tendency to push smaller material into the surface. A rubber-tined rake is usually better, albeit rather slow. A garden vacuum cleaner or blower provides the easiest and most efficient way of clearing the surface. Ideally once a year or at least every 2 years, court surface’s benefit from a vigorous power wash. This will keep the surface interstices clean and free-draining, but is also essential for maintaining good grip. Courts near busy roads are particularly susceptible to becoming coated with “traffic film”, whilst those near trees may become coated with “honey-dew” from aphids. The resulting black film from either cause can make the courts very slippery after rain. |
