Painting
Tennis Courts
The
majority of our business involves the painting and repainting of tennis
courts for private clients, tennis clubs, schools and colleges.
We
paint tennis courts and also renovate them at further intervals to renew
their appearance and extend the life of the macadam surface.
When
choosing a paint coating, factors such as the position of the courts and
the anticipated severity of use, all require careful consideration.( Technical
Detail section)
We
offer a range of acrylic and polyurethane textured colour coatings that:
- Enhance
the appearance of the court.
- Improve
surface grip and provide the necessary slip resistance due to their
additional texturing agents.
- Strengthen
and prolong the life of the surface with the use of a surface binder.
- Are
environmentally safe, yet provide fungi and algae resistance
- Comply
with standards laid out in the Sports & Play Construction Association
(SAPCA) code of practice.
We have a standard
range of colours held permanently in stock.
Special colours are available quickly and at little extra cost.
Slip
Resistance
Texturing agents are added to the paint coatings to provide the
recommended level of grip in dry, wet and damp conditions. The value recommended
by the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) for Tennis & Mini Tennis is 60.
Painting
Netball Courts
Due to the nature of play, the surface of Netball Courts is subject to
greater wear and normally require a higher slip resistance than required
for Tennis Courts.
(i.e. The All England Netball Assoc. recommend minimum slip resistance
75 on TRRL Slip Test).
We recommend the application of Water Based Polyurethane with additional
aluminium oxide aggregate incorporated in the coating to produce the correct
level of slip resistance combined with a tough paint surface.
Re-Painting
Older Courts
Repainting
a court will enhance the appearance and will restore the necessary slip
resistance. In addition the paint coating will help the long term durability
of the court's surface, especially if combined with a surface binder.
A
large proportion of our business involves the Re-Painting of older courts.
